The Passenger
In the 1990s to early 2000s, "mini theaters" became a cultural movement in Japan. Especially in Tokyo, these small cinemas showcased high-quality films from around the world, with unique late-night screenings and special programs that excited culture lovers.
This collection features original Japanese-designed flyers from that golden era—each one framed in a custom wooden frame. Keiko Anzai, the collector, was deeply inspired by films like Smoke, Blue in the Face, and Crooklyn, all set in Brooklyn. Watching them in Tokyo's mini theaters sparked her dream of one day living in Brooklyn—and now, she is based in Brooklyn!
We hope this collection opens the door to new cultural discoveries for you.
